These 4 Chinese Airports Are Among the Busiest in the World
If you live in a big city in China (and seriously who doesn’t?), there’s nothing worse than enduring the long lines, massive crowds and frequent delays at the airport. That’s especially true during the holidays.
In March, the Airports Council International released its preliminary world airport traffic report and, surprise, surprise, four Chinese cities ranked in the top 15 busiest airports in the world.
So which Chinese city ranked the highest?
Beijing Capital International Airport came in as the second busiest airport in the world handling a whopping 100,983,290 passengers in 2018. (Good thing the capital is all set to open its massive new Daxing International Airport in September.)
Beijing’s airport was followed by Hong Kong International Airport at No. 8, Shanghai Pudong International Airport at No. 9 and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at No. 13.
Here’s a glimpse at the top 10 busiest airports in the world:
1. Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport (107,394,029 passengers)
2. Beijing Capital International Airport (100,983,290 passengers)
3. Dubai International Airport (89,149,387 passengers)
4. Los Angeles International Airport (87,534,384 passengers)
5. Tokyo’s Haneda Airport (87,131,973 passengers)
